Documents
A raise produces paper. Teasers, the PPM, subscription agreements, KYC files, quarterly reports. Documents is where your team keeps all of it, linked to the deal, contact, or transaction it belongs to. Admins and Members work here. A Relationship Manager has no Documents page and reaches files only on deals.
Add a file
Open Documents
Choose Documents in the manager portal.
Upload or link
From the New menu, upload files, or add links to files you keep in Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, Box, or a similar service.
Put it where it belongs
From the row menu, add labels, assign the file to a deal or a contact, or set it as a deal’s cover image.
On a deal, files sit in folders, so the data room stays readable. Northbridge Capital uses one folder each for Legal, Financials, and Property for Lisbon Logistics Fund II. An LP finds the lease schedule without scrolling past forty files.
Open any file in preview to ask the AI assistant questions about it. It is a quick way to find the break clause in a 60 page lease.
Ask someone for a file
You often need a document from someone else, such as a passport copy or a signed side letter. Choose Request files from the New menu. Address it to a teammate, a CRM contact, or any email address. Write instructions, pick what the request is for, set a due date, and turn on reminders.
The recipient uploads through a link, with no account needed. They can send up to 20 PDF or image files, 10 MB each. A request shows as Open, Fulfilled, or Cancelled, and you can edit, cancel, or delete it.
Investors can also ask your team for a document from the investor portal.
Get a signature
When a file needs signing, create a signable from it or from a template, choose the signers, and send it. The Investor signs in the investor portal, and the signature status shows on the signable.
To give a file to specific people, see Share a document.
