The business model of the existing platform is the following:
Free registration to the platform
SMAT will receive a commission on each subscription or transaction:
On primary market (i.e., subscription of new instruments upon issuance): From 30% to 100% of the distribution fee or commission of the registered instruments. It represents, depending on the nature of the projects, from 0.50% to 3.5% of the amount subscribed by the asset or wealth manager investing on the platform on behalf of its client. The commission is due by the distributor.
On secondary market (i.e., transfer of instruments already issued): 0.50% of the total amount of the transaction. The commission is due by the seller
Revenue streams on the digital asset's platform
The digital assets platform developed by SMAT has multiple additional revenue streams:
Wallet services: SMAT will be invoicing the use of its wallet as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model with a monthly fee. Initially, SMAT will charge a ‘master wallet’ fee that will depend on the number of subwallets managed by the asset/wealth manager. Average estimated fee per month per user shall be CHF 500.-. Other variations may be subsequently introduced, including volume based tiering and 0 fee promotions.
Custodian and storage: SMAT will charge an average custody and storage fee of approximately 15bps net of the assets managed by the asset/wealth manager. Other variations may be introduced depending on the size under custody.
Aggregator fee: SMAT will select different exchanges accessible on the SMAT platform and will be taking referral fees according to the exchanges policies.
DeFi protocol fees: SMAT will charge fees based on the spread from lending and borrowing assets and origin loan fees.
Other Fees: as SMAT may provide various additional services on the platform, the streams of revenue may evolve from time to time.
