SMAT has built an intuitive digital platform that empowers financial advisors with unmatched access to alternative investments. By building trusted relationships with financial advisors, asset managers, wealth managers, custodians, and a broad spectrum of service providers, SMAT connects the traditional finance (TradFi) ecosystem to alternative investment products at institutional terms and conditions and makes the investment process faster, easier, and cost-effective.
The SMAT platform is a user-friendly environment for wealth managers to easily browse, select and transact alternative products. The hub can also be used to view due diligence summaries, build portfolios, track client investments and access thought leadership pieces.
SMAT ecosystem is centered around three main groups operating in complementarity with one another:
Wealth managers: this category includes single-family and multi-family offices, independent wealth managers, private banks, asset managers, etc. These actors are on the lookout for reliable and profitable investment opportunities for their clients.
Real asset project issuers, originators or distributors: this category includes direct owners of tangible assets, fund managers, project sponsors and distributors, tokenizers, etc. These actors are responsible for supplying the assets that the wealth managers will invest in.
Intermediaries: examples of such actors are custodian banks and inter-dealer brokers. They will be responsible for the settlement of the transactions or act as financial custodians. They will also provide advice to both parties to maximize transparency and satisfaction throughout each transaction.
As of today, we already have:
multiple active members representing together a total AuM of +CHF 45bn, and
a deal-flow of over CHF250mn+ of various projects (both on primary market and on secondary market). The projects available on the platform include as an example private debt, private equity, infrastructure or investment funds.
A whitelabelling solution dedicated to the advisory teams of large private banks is also available. With this value proposal, SMAT will offer its platform on a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model, in view of facilitating the sourcing, the listing and the distribution of alternative instruments within the bank ecosystem.
SMAT will also propose to these clients in the foreseeable future to distribute their products to the SMAT community. SMAT is currently in process with two private banks in global top 10.
